ALL ABOUT TEAM REFLECTIONS
The Team Reflections Synchronized Skating Program originated in 1999 and has been under the direction of Head Coach Amy Killinger Henderson. The program began with one youth team and has evolved into four competitive United States Figure Skating Teams: Beginner-3, PreJuvenile, Intermediate, and Masters, all of which represent the Central Pennsylvania Figure Skating Club (CPFSC) in Harrisburg, Pa. Synchro Coaches Deb Sheaffer and Janice Reinke assist, and the teams receive presentation instruction from Kristina Grant, Director of the Harrisburg Ballet Theater.
Our Beginner-3 team has 12 skaters who are 9-15 years of age. The team has grown from an introductory level to a competitive team. Team members include two sets of sisters. Beginner Reflections are coached by Deborah Street Sheaffer, assisted by Kathleen Kelly. The team competes at the Terry Conners Open, Reflections Synchro Invitational, and Lee Ann Miele Competitions and performs exhibitions at the Capitol Critique, CPFSC Winter Wonderland Holiday Show and CPFSC Teacher Appreciation Show.
PreJuvenile level Reflections range in age from 8-16 years old. This team of 13 skaters is required to have a minimum of Pre-Preliminary Moves-in-the-Field Test and has skaters who have passed up through Juvenile MIF. PreJuv level Reflections are entered in the USFS Eastern Challenge Series and placed second in the East for the 2009-2010 season. This season, they will compete at the Terry Conners Open, Colonial Classic, Eastern Sectional Synchro Championships, Reflections Synchro Invitational, and Lee Ann Miele Competitions. They will also skate exhibitions at the Capitol Critique, CPFSC Winter Wonderland Holiday Show and the CPFSC Teacher Appreciation Show. PreJuv Reflections are coached by Amy Henderson and Janice Reinke.
Team Reflections Intermediate consists of 16 elite skaters aged 13-17 years. The team members are required to have passed at least Intermediate MIF, but the majority have Senior MIF and most of those remaining are working on either Junior or Senior MIF. Although the team is based in Harrisburg, Intermediate Reflections boasts skaters from five Pennsylvania counties, including Philadelphia, and three surrounding states: Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. We also have three sets of sisters as team members. The Intermediate Reflections have qualified to skate in the US Synchronized Skating National Championships in 5 of the last 7 years, earning 2nd place and the National Silver Medal in 2009-2010. The team was recognized by the Pennsylvania State Legislature for this accomplishment. The Intermediate Team is coached by Amy Henderson and Deb Sheaffer. This season, Reflections Intermediate will compete at the Thanksgiving Classic, Dr. Richard Porter Classic, Colonial Classic, Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships, and Reflections Synchro Invitational. The skaters are also scheduled to skate exhibitions at the CPFSC Winter Wonderland Holiday Show and CPFSC Teacher Appreciation Show.
Our Masters Team began as a recreational team but has transitioned into a USFS competitive team over the last four years and has medaled each year. The team consists of 14 adult skaters and is coached by Amy Henderson. Team Reflections Masters will skate at the Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships and Reflections Synchro Invitational¸¬ as well as at the CPFSC Holiday Show.
All Team Reflections levels practice at the Giant Center, Twin Ponds East, and the HersheyPark Arena.
